Navigating the rooftop:
All visitors need to know how to reach the rooftop and navigate it. There are 253 steps to reach the first level of the rooftop. Alternatively, you can also take an elevator to reach this level.
Once on the rooftop, there are two levels to tour, and only the first one can be reached by an elevator. The terrace is uneven and is not recommended for visitors with mobility issues.
To climb back down, all visitors are expected to take the stairs. Elevator access is reserved for visitors with mobility and health issues only.
Opening hours:
The Milan Cathedral rooftop is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day. The entry to the terrace closes at 6.10 p.m. During the summer months of June to August, the terrace has extended opening hours until 9 p.m. During these hours, you can enjoy music shows on the terrace.
